UR @ Lolla, Magic Wands
A stuffed lion is not a normal stage prop but it matches the dreamy nature of Magic Wand's songs. The Nashville duo, Chris and Dexy Valentine, produce a sound akin to the Raveonettes, with just two guitars and drum samples. Wearing black sunglasses in the shade, the band aimed to replicate the effortless cool of Blondie but their set lacked any magic or charisma. Despite playing great singles, such as "Black Magic" and "Teenage Love," they ended their set twenty minutes early and no one really cared. - Jennifer
Hated it. Very contrived.

It sounded like the levels

It sounded like the levels could have been louder when I was standing in the back but once I moved up closer it was really good. The Magic Wands had a great turn out for noon. I wasn't expecting a long set since they only have seven songs so I was pleased.
