An Open Letter From Volcanoes Make Islands

An Open Letter from Henry Bianco of Volcanoes Make Islands

Friends, Future Enemies:

Volcanoes Make Islands shall release our second EP, entitled Sick City, on August 30th at Chicago waypost Schubas Tavern. Despite numerous impediments including draconian US Immigration law and band members being in other, like, totally sweet touring acts, this is our second release in less than a year of being a functioning, musical band unit. Labor omnia vincit.

Working with Dan Smart on the record was, as they say, "Cool." As a charter member of Who's Who in Chicago and Abroad, we present you with a pre-release download of said EP, accessible beyond the following hyperlink.

Opening the evening of the 30th will be Scott Lucas and The Married Men (members of Local H/The Tossers), The Mutts (members of Company of Thieves), and the debut performance of The Sacred Robe of The Ancient Psychedelic Monks (members of Volcanoes Make Islands, The Rikters, The Field Auxiliary, and Genital Hercules), with Caural DJing in between acts. It's also worth mentioning that members of The Field Auxiliary will be performing with VMI on the evening of the 30th, further cementing Volcanoes Make Islands as "The Most Average Looking Band in Illinois." Did we mention the 30th is also Henry's 26th birthday? Free t-shirt to the first spotter of a grey beard hair.

Physical copies of the record with seriously deep and meaningful artwork will be available (on a totally original Why-Hasn't-Anyone-Thought-Of-This, Pay-Whatever-The-Hell-You-Want-Including-Nothing scheme) at the show. Tickets are scarce, so you probably want to check out this link to procure some.

It is your predestined birthright to download our music and celebrate its release, publicly. You are invited, by anyone, to do anything.
